Patriotic Altered Art Doll

I made this Patriotic altered fairy doll for a swap I participated in.  Her name is Ms. July.  This is the very first time I have created an altered doll, it was a lot of fun, but challenging to me.

My First Attempt at Watercolors

I just wanted to share my first attempt using water color. I made an ATC and envelope.  The name of this piece is Lotus and Lilly.  We had to create a memory for the class I am taking at Couresa. I went fishing at Lake Okissa and it was the first time I have seen Lillies and Lotus blooms up close and personal. I was in a boat and could really see them emerging out of the water. I was in awe of their beauty and wanted to capture that memory.

This is how they actually looked.

Unfinished Art Journal Pages

I have been working on these for about a week.  I do not know why I can not finish one and go to the other! I have an idea that pops into my head and I should get it down before I forget!
Also, has any one heard about Coursera? I'm taking an art class with them and its FREE and online:  Introduction to Art:  Concepts and Techniques. It is a 7 week course and I started in the 3rd week.  If you are interested go check it out!

Wishing every one a great week end!  Happy Friday!

Wishing every one a wonderful week.

DIY Patio In The Making

I wanted a place to sit out front and look at the beautiful Oak Trees we have surrounding our little place, decided to make the best of the front area with no grass growing and made a little sitting area.

Way to small, back to Home Depot I go. They had these 16" stepping stones on sale for $2.77.

Looking a little better. I got this little table and chair set last year for $25.00 at a yard sale it was faded. I painted green and I am not sure if I like the color or not, it will be staying this color for now.

I put mulch around the stone to make the are a little bigger. I think I will add small rocks instead of the the mulch at a later time.

My puppy likes it any way!

Not finished yet, but I'm on my way. would like to make "walls" for this area. I haven't decided out of what. any suggestions?

Wishing everyone a great week end!
